In 2002, She finished the Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. From 2002 to 2004, she performed post-doctoral studies in Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. She has been working for CJ CheilJedang since 2004. CJ CheilJedang is a Food and Bio company of Korea with 10 bill US dollars sales per year. Especially, CJ CheilJedang is one of the top companies in microbial fermentation technology with 3 billion US dollars sales in Bio business unit. CJ CheilJedang produces amino acids such as lysine, glutamic acid, threonine, and methionine and the nucleotides using fermentation in Indonesia, China, USA, Brazil, and Malaysia. Her research topic was metabolic engineering using Bacteria and Yeasts to produce industrially useful metabolites. She worked as a project leader for the production of methionine and achieved the world first commercial production of methionine using fermentation technology in 2014. In 2018, she became a Head of Bio R&D, and since 2021, she worked as a Head of animal nutrition business Division in CJ CheilJedang.
