Dr. Yong-Chul Shin is the founder and CEO of Amicogen, Inc. which is a KOSDAQ-listed company specializing in white biotechnology, and has been running the company for 20 years since its establishment in May, 2000. For more than 30 years he has been expanding his area of R&D and Business for special enzymes for pharmaceutical, environment, food and health functional ingredients based on enzyme technology.
He holds a bachelor's degree in food engineering from Seoul National University (1983) and a master's/Ph.D. degree in biotechnology from KAIST (1988). He was a professor in the department of microbiology at Gyeongsang National University from 1988 to 2015, and is currently a CEO of Amicogen, Inc.(2000~), director of the Korea Bio Association (2017~), and director of the Bio-Synergy Research Center (2019~). Also, he served as the industry director of the Korea Chitin/Chitosan Association from 1999 to 2012, editor and auditor of the Microbiological Engineering Association, editor of the Microbiology Association, and deliberation council member of the Genetic Recombination Food/Health Functional Food/Food Hygiene at the ministry of Korea Food and Drug Administration(KFDA).
He won the Technology Excellence Award with Pinitol(health functional ingredient) which is made from carob pods for controlling blood sugar levels (Ministry of Health and Welfare, 2003), the President Award of Venture Company Award(2006), and the Global Leader Award of Healthcare Business(Maekyung Media Group, 2015), He was also honored as the Overseas Business Consultant in Jining, China - CEO, Amicogen, Inc., Korea

- Hyeon Gyu Lee

Hyeon Gyu Lee, is a Professor in the Department of Food and Nutrition at Hanyang University. He had completed his Ph. D. at North Carolina State University in 1994, focusing on food processing. Afterwards, he became a senior researcher at KHIDI in 1995 and a professor at Hoseo University in 1996. Since being apointed at Hanyang University in 1999, he has been working on the development of food processing, such as the encapsulation technique for biological components in food products. While he was working at the university, he was also appointed to the Director General of Food and Consumer Safety Bureau at KFDA. Author of over 210 scientific publications (SCI Journals) and inventor for 39 patents; he is currently the vice president and the Editor-in-Chief of the Korean Journal of Food Science and Technology at KoSFoST.
